Teaching With Three-Act Math Tasks (REPEAT)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Do you find that many students are lacking initiative and perseverance when it comes to solving Math problems?  We will look at how we might make math more visual and accessible.  Real world math problems require more than just calculations.  Discussing what matters (mathematically), what doesn’t, and what additional information is necessary for a particular situation is interesting to students, and helps them solidify their thinking and connect ideas.  See how letting students build the problem from a picture or a short video, and then creating some suspense, might increase levels of participation and enthusiasm in your classroom.
