GoNoodle, Reflex Math, Reading Rewards, and YouTube instructional short videos
This school year was a year of wonder and delight for both my students and I. My Smart Board was installed....and it opened up a whole new way of teaching. Students have been raised with the internet, ipads, and computer screens; many are visual learners. Through different websites, I have been able to engage all of my students by; giving them brainbreaks, having them learn their basic Math facts in a fun new way, and using YouTube to help explain new Math concepts and figurative language in English. So much to share.

We will explain how we integrated the WeDo Lego Robotics into a  comprehensive and cross-curricular theme on Robots. We will share the materials we developed and the way in which we engaged students in a structured and simple manner. All of this was inspired by the LEARN LES, but organized to suit our needs. The Science Literacy Connection- Designing Learning Units
Kids love science and technology, so why not use science reading and Clicker 6 to help all students make literacy connections? We use a learning cycle model which is organized into four phases - Do It, Talk It, Read It, and Write It. Clicker 6 software has supported our struggling students, as well as helped our students with the complex demands of writing and reading.  During this presentation, we explore the pedagogical practices of Lynn Senecal, Edwin Ellis, Grant Wiggins and P. David Pearson.
